History of Baschieri & Pellagri
Storia
PASSION FOR EXCELLENCE SINCE 1885
Since 1885, our history has been one of technical distinction that is a guarentee of excellence and reliability for the most demanding shooters, hunters and shooting conditions. If you are shooting in a tournamnet or wing shooting, Baschieri & Pellagri is the name you know and trust to always perform flawlessly, regardless of shooting conditions. The Baschieri & Pellagri name has been synonymous with world-class quality in hunting and competition since 1885.

1885
THE BEGINNING
Baschieri & Pellagri was founded in Bologna, Italy, the world capital of chemical research. Settimio Baschieri, a dedicated hunter, and Guido Pellagri, a chemistry graduate, began their first experiments in creating smokeless gunpowder as opposed to black powder which was the only gunpowder in use at the time. The result of their research was Acapnia powder, from the Greek word "smokeless," the first white gunpowder.

THE 1920's
TIME AT THE TESTING BENCH
It was a time of trial and testing at B&P. One-of-a-kind testing equipment was developed to enhance and refine Baschieri & Pellagri's proprietary smokeless gunpowder. During this time, not only were enhancements made to their original formula, it was also a time of researching new ones; while at the same time adapting new manufacturing techniques, developing new machinery, scaling the existing facility and honing the skills of all employees involved.

THE 1930's & 1940's
THE BIRTH OF SHOTSHELL
Baschieri & Pellagri begins the production of high-quality shotshells. The debut of the MB Tigre and MB Tricolor were made after years of research and performance testing. These famous brands are still well-known today. During this period, the company begins sponsoring some of the top shooter of the era in an effort to promote and grow the B&P brand among competitive shooters.

THE 1950's & 1960's
THE START OF PLASTIC HULLS
During this time, the company concentrates on improving the manufacturing process for greater mass production of shotshell ammunition. Through this, B&P becomes one of the leading manufactures in Italy. With specific focus on new materials, B&P focuses on the loading of plastic hulled cartridges to ensure the best results for its athletes across the world. During this same period, the company began the development of higher performing base wad technology. And in 1964, Team B&P took its first Gold Medal in the Olympic Games in trap - with Ennio Mattarelli taking home the top prize.

THE 1970's & 1980's
GORDRON HULL EMERGES
Baschieri & Pellagri begins development on one of the most technically sophisticated shotshell projects in the company's history. Through know-how, new initiatives, and a passion for performance, the Gordon case emerges from B&P. This revolutionary and proprietary development turns a previously inert element into a very active one by reducing felt recoil at the point of ignition. The success of B&P products continues in the Olympic Games held in Munich and Moscow.

THE 1990's
THE GORDON REVOLUTION
After the development of the Gordon case, the mass manufacturing of shotshells with this new innovative feature begins, continuing the company's mission to create unique, technically advanced, premium products for a demanding market. Additionally, wad development continues with additional research and engineering to improve not only lead shot patterning but meet the increasing needs for non-toxic, steel shotshell loading.

THE 2000's
AN AGE OF NEW CHALLENGES
In the following years, Baschieri & Pellagri forms long-term partnerships with leading national and International companies to boost production and continues innovating. Our investment in research and development during this time aids in B&P producing new products and line extensions into new product categories. Continued success for the brad are also seen in the Olympic Games in Sidney, Beijing and London.

THE 2010's & 2020's
FIOCCHI ACQUISITION & GREEN CORE
After a long-standing relationship with The Fiocchi Group, Baschieri & Pellagri is acquired and formally incorporated into the Fiocchi family of companies. This creates a synergy of innovation and resources to elevate both brands. During this same time, B&P develops the first completely biodegradable basewad called GreenCore. Thanks to specific R&D activities, a range of technical solutions are made with 100% biodegradable materials with technical performance in line or better than traditional plastic materials. These components allow perfect ballistic performance in different climatic conditions, regardless of temperature and humidity.
